Job summary

Responsibilities

Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $27.00–$33.00/hour, depending on experience
Night Shift Differential: Additional 10% for qualifying night-shift hours

Position Overview

Apache Workforce is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter for a manufacturing and fabrication environment in Houston.

The Pipe Fitter will be responsible for measuring, cutting, fitting, assembling, and installing piping and related components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials, along with the ability to accurately measure and fabricate pipe and safely operate pipe-fitting tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and fabrication drawings.

Measure and lay out pipe according to required dimensions.

Select appropriate pipe, fittings, supports, and related materials.

Cut, fit, and assemble piping components.

Thread and bend pipe using appropriate tools and equipment.

Work with steel, stainless steel, and other applicable piping materials.

Perform basic MIG welding as required for fabrication and pipe-fitting work.

Install and position pipe supports, hangers, and related components.

Verify measurements, alignment, fit-up, and completed assemblies.

Use hand and power tools safely.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an organized condition.

Assist with material inventory and tracking as needed.

Follow company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.

Maintain good housekeeping and follow workplace organization standards.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

5+ years of related pipe-fitting or fabrication experience preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and P&IDs.

Experience measuring, cutting, fitting, bending, and assembling pipe.

Knowledge of pipe dimensions, schedules, fittings, and materials.

Basic MIG welding experience.

Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively and follow safety instructions.

Ability to work safely in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical training or certification in pipe fitting.

Experience with automated pipe-cutting or threading equipment.

Forklift experience or certification.

Overhead crane experience or certification.

Welding or fabrication certifications.

Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S practices.

Physical & Work Environment

Manufacturing/fabrication shop environment.

May involve exposure to industrial equipment, noise, materials, and varying temperatures.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the work area for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.

Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
