Job description

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Pipe Crew Operator for our large heavy civil project located in Tampa, FL.

General Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of pipe for sewer and water lines
• Operate an excavator (350-470 size) and other heavy equipment as necessary safely and efficiently
• Must have experience digging for a pipe crew at times 20+ feet deep on line and grade
• Perform daily checks on equipment
• Communicate with Foreman/Superintendent, and crewmen to safely accomplish tasks
• Safely dig and backfill as directed by management
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Understand basic principles of laying water main and gravity storm drain ranging in diameter from 8”‑66”
• Ability to operate a rubber tire loader when needed
• Must be willing to help crew with other activities when an operator is not needed
• Proficient at layout reading survey points and measuring elevations
• Good communication skills to work effectively and safely
• Ability to work overtime as required
