Job summary

PSV Industries is seeking a skilled Pipe and Plate Welder to join our Beaumont area team. The role welds pipe and plate in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using FCAW, RMD, GTAW, and SMAW processes, following project specs and welding procedures.

You will read blueprints, set up and operate welding equipment, and ensure welds meet ASME B31.3 standards while upholding safety protocols. This is a full-time on-site position across Gulf Coast MSAs with multiple worksites.

Qualifications

Experience welding pipe and plate components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of welding procedures and codes, including ASME B31.3.

Weld pipe and plate components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions per project specs and procedures.
Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain welding equipment for FCAW, RMD, GTAW, SMAW.
Lay out, fit, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly.
Clamp, tack weld, heat bend, grind, or bolt components to fit for welding.
Weld with minimal defects as defined in ASME B31.3.
Adhere to safety rules and company/OSHA guidelines.

About The Role

Weld pipe and plate components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions for industrial structural and pipe applications, including FCAW, RMD, GTAW, and SMAW processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Weld metal pipe and plate components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions for industrial structural and pipe applications as defined by project specifications, drawings, and welding procedures.
Set up, utilize, troubleshoot, and operate welding equipment for FCAW (flux core arc welding), RMD (regulated metal deposition), GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), and SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) processes.
Lay out, fit, position, align, and secure parts and components prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, flange lip up pins, wrap arounds, center finders, and rulers.
Clamp, hold, tack weld, heat bend, grind, or bolt component parts to properly fit plate and pipe to obtain required configuration and positions for welding.
Weld with minimal defects as defined in ASME B31.3.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding process and materials.
Adhere to all company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines.
Apply working knowledge of modular fabrication practices used in shop based assembly of pre engineered structural and piping modules.

Requirements

Must pass a pre hire drug test and medical physical.
Must pass a written and functional test administered at the project worksite or PSV worksite in Texas at employer expense.
Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs.
Must be willing and able to climb and work in high places that may exceed 200 feet in height, and in confined spaces.
Must adhere to all OSHA, company, and client safety protocols.
These requirements apply equally between U.S. workers and H 2B program workers.

Shift Schedule

Workers will work one of two shifts: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM with a half hour lunch break on varying days of the week from Monday through Sunday based on client need.
