Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate who will be responsible for developing and performing in-vitro and ex-vivo biomarker assays to deliver translational science datasets across multiple programs within Pioneering Medicines. This position supports translational research activities aimed at bridging the gap between early research and clinical development.

The ideal candidate will be skillful in conducting in vitro and ex-vivo characterization of novel therapeutics and cell-based assays using rodent, NHP, and human cell lines and primary cells. Previous experience with assay development to evaluate translational pharmacology in rodent, NHP, and human tissues/plasma/whole blood is highly desired. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple tasks, quickly learn new techniques, organize tasks efficiently, and keep records accurately. Ability to interact well with scientific colleagues and work effectively in a team-oriented environment is necessary. This role is a 12-month contract, with Pioneering Medicines' third-party agency hiring for this position. Employees will work as contractors, with potential to convert to full-time based on performance and other criteria.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ex-vivo and in-vitro laboratory assays to support translational research activities characterizing novel therapeutics.
• Independently conduct experiments and analyze data.
• Operate and maintain relevant equipment.
• Maintain electronic notebooks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Science with at least 2 years’ laboratory experience; industrial experience preferred.
• Experience with ex-vivo assay development in rodent, NHP, and human tissues/plasma/whole blood.
• Hands-on experience with cell-based and molecular biology assays such as dPCR, ELISA/MSD, flow cytometry, imaging-based assays.
• Experience working with sterile cell culture techniques for growth and maintenance of cell lines and primary cells (e.g., PBMCs, organoids, explant cultures).
• Prior experience with in vitro cell-based pharmacology assays using human or rodent primary cells.
