Job summary

Invoca is seeking a Founding Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to build and lead a team embedded in our Go-to-Market motion. You will hire, coach, and prioritize which deals receive engineering support, acting as the escalation point when deals or implementations require senior technical involvement.

This player-coach role grows into full people management as the team scales, with emphasis on pipeline influence, customer outcomes, and measurable impact on time-to-value and win rates.

Qualifications

Experience in customer-facing technical leadership roles.
Proven ability to manage and mentor engineers in a high-growth GTM setting.
Strong business judgment and ability to prioritize engineering effort for deals.

Responsibilities

Hire, coach, and manage Forward Deployed Engineers and set performance expectations.
Prioritize deployment across the deal pipeline and allocate engineering support accordingly.
Act as senior technical escalation point on strategic deals and implementations.
Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to align FDEs with GTM motions.
Define PoCs scope, post-deal debriefs, and create reusable assets.
