Job summary

Milliken and Company is seeking a maintenance technician for our Pine Mountain, GA plant. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Jacquard heads, inspect fabrics for defects, and ensure line performance through accurate documentation and hands-on repair work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing or textile experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read production instructions, gauges, quality specifications, and safety documents.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift.
  • Must be able to work on elevated gantries (over 20 feet above ground).

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards (OSHA, PPE, LOTO).
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Jacquard heads to ensure optimal loom performance.
  • Identify and repair hook marks.
  • Replace worn, damaged, or broken cords, heddles, and springs as required.
  • Accurately complete Barco declarations in accordance with plant and quality requirements.
  • Document work performed and communicate machine/job status during shift handoffs.
  • Participate in maintenance and operations meetings as assigned.
  • Inspect fabric during and after production for quality defects.
  • Record inspection results, maintenance actions, and findings on appropriate documentation and systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing or walking for 12 hours or more per shift.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or seated) during equipment operation.
  • Ability to move/traverse the production floor, including accessing creel areas, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials such as maintenance supplies, cords, modules, ceil cards ribbon cables & other tools), typically up to 50 lbs.
  • Stooping, bending, reaching overhead, and occasional ladder/platform climbing.
  • Ability to operate machine controls, touchscreens, tools, and adjustments requiring fine motor skills.
  • Ability to sustain repetitive motions during extended production runs.
  • Ability to visually inspect products, monitor displays, and identify non‑conforming conditions.
  • Ability to tolerate heat, temperature variations, and abnormal environmental conditions typical of manufacturing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily on the elevated gantries. Some tasks will be near moving machinery and ongoing process lines.
  • Noise levels vary; hearing protection may be required.
  • Exposure to fibers, lint, dust, and particulates typical of textile operations.
  • Ability to work in fluctuating seasonal temperatures.
  • Work may involve tight/confined areas, ladder use, and navigating around machinery.
  • Required use of PPE: safety glasses, safety shoes, double hearing protection, gloves, hearing protection, and other items per task area.
