Position Overview

Truck drivers work on a crew or independently from a yard, delivering equipment and materials to and from job sites and working on-site. They perform duties as directed by the foreman, operating equipment such as backhoes, excavators, vibratory or static plows, trenchers, or directional bore machines for underground utility and pipe installation, removal, or maintenance.

Essential Functions

1. Ensure cargo is delivered safely and on schedule, with proper paperwork completed.
2. Assist crews on-site with labor-intensive tasks like hand digging, equipment operation, fusion (if qualified), and cleanup.
3. Perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry, demonstrating the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability.
4. Perform physical functions of the job and operate within short time frames as needed.
5. Maintain professional interactions with customers and the public.
6. Collaborate effectively with team members.
7. Follow all safety policies and procedures per company and client standards.
8. Load and secure materials or equipment for transport, and secure work site, equipment, and materials at shift end for safety.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: At least 3 years of operating experience, knowledge of commercial driving regulations, and ability to maneuver trucks.
• Licenses: Valid Class A CDL with combination vehicle and air brake endorsements, a clean driving record, and current medical card.
• Strong work ethic, team-oriented, able to drive long hours, travel regularly, and handle unexpected situations like traffic or weather.
