Job summary

AbbVie in Chicago seeks an experienced Operator/Technician to monitor manufacturing equipment and processes within a GMP environment. You will set up, operate, troubleshoot, and document activities, ensuring quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include reviewing batch records, training staff, and supporting validation activities. You will coordinate with warehouse for materials and collaborate with engineering to implement new equipment, while maintaining safety and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; science degree preferred.
• 8+ years manufacturing experience as Operator/Technician required.
• Experience with validation, troubleshooting, and document management required.
• Ability to read, understand and follow instructions and process documentation.
• Ability to write clearly to explain deviations; strong math skills and autonomy.
• Ability to train technicians and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment and processes; set up, clean, and maintain equipment.
• Follow GMP guidelines; document and report quality data.
• Review procedures and batch records; suggest improvements.
• Lead or back up team leaders; train staff as needed.
• Support engineering/validation; implement new equipment.
• Coordinate with warehouse for staging and supplies; communicate needs.
• Perform analytical calculations and inspect equipment for cleanliness.
• Identify hold points and align schedules to process needs.
• Assist safety, maintenance and other areas with changes.
