Job summary

LANXESS in Port Reading, NJ is seeking candidates for a role supporting pilot-scale chemical processing and development activities. You will operate pilot plant equipment, execute batch processes, monitor and sample, and document results to drive process optimization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Chemical Technology, Process Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical field.
• 3-5 years of relevant chemical manufacturing, pilot plant, or batch process operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate pilot-scale chemical processing equipment to support process development, scale-up, and new product introduction activities.
• Execute chemical batch processes, including raw material charging, process monitoring, sampling, and equipment operation.
• Support pilot plant trials and development projects by collecting process data and documenting results.
• Work closely with scientists, engineers, and Application Technology personnel to support process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the scale-up of new products and manufacturing processes from development to commercial production.
• Maintain accurate batch records, operating logs, laboratory samples, and other required technical documentation.
• Perform equipment startup, shutdown, cleaning, inspections, and basic troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation of pilot plant assets.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and operating procedures while actively participating in site safety and continuous improvement programs.
