Job summary

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Pilot Plant Operator at the Research and Technology facility in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. You will operate multiple processes to support day-to-day operations, monitor process variables, troubleshoot issues, and work with operators, engineers, contractors, and supervision to safely execute tasks.

The role requires day-to-day monitoring, startup/shutdown of equipment, sample collection for lab tests, and strict adherence to safety rules while working a 12-hour

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 5+ years of experience.
• Associate degree in Process Technology with 3+ years of experience.
• Equivalent military service with 3+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience troubleshooting process and mechanical issues.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic computer skills understood.
• Ability to drive a forklift.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Modify operating processes to keep safety and reliability within targets.
• Respond promptly to process alarms and constraints.
• Safely start up and shut down equipment.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and return to service.
• Monitor plant equipment and process conditions; read meters and gauges.
• Operate control room DCS systems.
• Troubleshoot process issues in the plant.
• Draw samples for laboratory testing.
• Follow operational tenets and safety rules.
• Perform housekeeping and shift turnover as required.
• Load/unload chemical shipments from trucks or railcars.
• Train and share knowledge with other operators.
• Complete regulatory and operating training.
• Participate in MOC reviews and PHA when required.
• Document information and perform shift turnover per unit management.
