Job summary

Xerion Advanced Battery Corp in Kettering, OH is seeking a Chemical Process Technician to support the startup and operation of a pilot-scale chemical processing facility. This full-time role focuses on safe operation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting of process equipment and systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in chemical plants or similar industrial environments, and will work with engineering staff during startup and ongoing pilot plant operations to ensure safe, reliable

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years in industrial chemical environments preferred.
Experience operating chemical process equipment and handling hazardous chemicals.
Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and process safety practices.
Ability to work safely in PPE-intensive environments.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and monitor pilot-scale chemical processing equipment and systems.
Perform startup, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting per SOPs.
Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
Handle, transfer, and process chemicals and raw materials safely.
Record operating data, equipment conditions, and process observations.
Participate in process trials, equipment changes, and troubleshooting with engineering.
Support training of additional operators as operations expand.
Assist with development and improvement of operating and safety procedures.
Maintain housekeeping and participate in preventive maintenance activities.
