Job summary

LANXESS in New Jersey is seeking a technically skilled specialist to operate pilot-scale processing equipment supporting process development, scale-up, and new product introductions. You will execute chemical batch processes, monitor operations, collect data, and document results while coordinating with scientists and engineers for optimization.

Responsibilities

• Operate pilot-scale processing equipment to support development, scale-up, and new product introduction.
• Execute chemical batch processes including charging, monitoring, sampling and operation.
• Support pilot trials by collecting data and documenting results.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to optimize processes and troubleshoot.
• Assist with scale-up from development to commercial production.
• Maintain accurate batch records, logs, and laboratory samples.
• Start up / shut down / clean and inspect equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Follow safety, environmental, quality, and SOPs and participate in site safety programs.

Job Highlights

• Operate pilot-scale chemical processing equipment to support process development, scale-up, and new product introduction activities.
• Execute chemical batch processes, including raw material charging, process monitoring, sampling, and equipment operation.
• Support pilot plant trials and development projects by collecting process data and documenting results.
• Work closely with scientists, engineers, and Application Technology personnel to support process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the scale-up of new products and manufacturing processes from development to commercial production.
• Maintain accurate batch records, operating logs, laboratory samples, and other required technical documentation.
• Perform equipment startup, shutdown, cleaning, inspections, and basic troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation of pilot plant assets.
• Follow all safety, environmental, quality, and operating procedures while actively participating in site safety and continuous improvement programs.

Experience / Skills

• Associate degree or certificate in Chemical Technology, Process Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related technical field
• 3-5 years relevant chemical manufacturing, pilot plant, or batch process operations experience
