NOW HIRING - SIC Hawker 800 Pilots - Birmingham, AL

  • Hawker Pilots enjoy a starting salary ranging from $94,503 to $116,183.10, based on experience, with annual scaled salary increases based on merit up to a maximum of $144,970.
  • 15K sign-on bonus (after successful completion of training/checkride).

JOB SUMMARY

The Second in Command (SIC) is designated as the SIC for a flight or series of flights in accordance with the principles and procedures required by FAR Part 135. The SIC is responsible for the safe execution of flight duties assigned. The SIC supports the PIC in their final authority during aircraft operation and exercises Operational Control at Tier 2 level as described in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual. The SIC must meet minimum qualifications as specified by FAR Part 135.245.

The fixed-wing pilot schedule is a rotating 8 days on, followed by 6 days off. During duty, pilots serve a 12-hour shift (or up to the maximum allowed under Part 135 if on mission) from home, and must meet program-specific call-out times to ensure timely trip launches. Shift assignments include either day or night duty periods scheduled a month in advance by the Base Lead Pilot to allow sufficient rest cycle preparation. Pilots will serve the same duty period during their 8-day shift and rotate to the next duty period in the subsequent 8-day shift. Changes within an 8-day shift are discouraged but may occur based on local needs.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Birmingham, AL.
  • Must hold, or be able to attain, HS-125-800 PIC Type Rating.
  • Hold, or be eligible for, an FAA ATP certificate.
  • Meet or exceed the following flight experience:
    • Total flight time: 1500 hours Airplane.
    • Multi-Engine: 250 hours multi-engine land.
    • PIC: 250 hours Airplane.
  • Must hold or be able to attain a First-Class Medical Certificate and maintain First Class Privileges.
  • Must have a valid US Passport.
  • Must be eligible to hold a Chinese "C" class visa.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, and crouch unassisted for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift 70 pounds.
    • Flexibility to work day and night shifts as assigned.
    • Ability to transport oneself to and from work.
    • Extensive international travel required.
    • Overnights may occur during missions.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Adhere to duties and responsibilities outlined in the AirMed International general operating manual.
    • Ensure aircraft readiness for missions in coordination with AirMed's 121 dispatch team.
    • Comply with all applicable FARs, ICAO annexes, and AIPs for domestic and international operations.
    • Disseminate pertinent flight operation information through the operational control structure.
    • Maintain professionalism and sensitivity to the operational environment at all times.
    • Attend required meetings, training, and check-flights outside normal shifts as needed.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Chief Pilot.
