Essential Duties


* Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures


* Conducts thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles being operated, in accordance with established company policies and procedures, reporting discrepancies immediately


* Follow designated route of travel as determined and agreed upon by dispatch, project managers, management, truck drivers, and oversize weight permits


* Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices; communicates using radio as needed; duties may vary according to job assignment


* Maintain proper speed at all times as determined by management.


* Directs movement of traffic to, from, and through site, using various warning devices


* Radios other flaggers or drivers at opposite end of site, giving clearance for reverse flow of traffic when appropriate


* Reports safety hazards and traffic problems to superior immediately


* Prepare reports and maintain records


* Provide superior customer service


* Ability to and willing to assist and accommodate the driver


* Maintain professional appearance and attitude


* All other duties as assigned



Qualifications


* Valid Driver's License


* Pilot/Escort Vehicle Operator Certificate


* Must be 19 years of age or older

Working Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions (extreme cold and inclement conditions - snow, ice, rain, wind, etc.). The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vehicle vibration. May also be exposed to long periods of isolation time while driving or resting.
