Job summary

Diamond Jets LLC is seeking a safety pilot to sit in the right seat of the Citation Mustang on a contract basis. This position requires a second pilot for passenger comfort and safety; trips originate from John Wayne (SNA) and mainly last up to two hours.

Candidates should have Commercial Multi Engine Land, 1000 hours total, turbine time preferred, FCC license, a valid USA passport, and a First Class FAA medical. You must live within 15 miles of SNA and be prepared for on‑the‑road work.

Qualifications

• Must hold Commercial Multi Engine Land
• Minimum 1000 hours total time, turbine time preferred
• FCC license and valid USA passport required
• First Class FAA medical
• CAN Pass Authorization for travel to/from Canada is a plus

Responsibilities

• Operate aircraft safely and efficiently while adhering to FARs and company policies.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure equipment is in good condition before departure.
• Communicate with air traffic control, crew, and passengers throughout the flight.
• Manage time to meet schedules while remaining flexible for changes.
• Analyze flight data and weather to make informed routing or emergency decisions.
• Provide exceptional customer service during flights.
• Maintain flight logs, maintenance checks, and incident reports as required.

Overview

Diamond Jets LLC is looking for a safety pilot to sit in the right seat of the Citation Mustang. This is a contract position and does not require a training contract. Our aircraft are single pilot approved but we require a second pilot for passenger comfort and safety. Trips start out of John Wayne. We are looking to promote our safety pilots to full time PICs once experience is attained. The majority of our trips are scheduled inside of 2 hours, therefore we require our pilots to live within 15 miles of SNA.

Responsibilities

• Operate aircraft safely and efficiently while adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company policies.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections and ensure all equipment is in optimal condition before departure.
• Communicate effectively with air traffic control, crew members, and passengers throughout the flight.
• Manage time effectively during flights, ensuring adherence to schedules while maintaining flexibility for unexpected changes.
• Analyze flight data and weather conditions to make informed decisions regarding route adjustments or emergency procedures.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger needs and concerns during the flight.
• Maintain accurate records of flight logs, maintenance checks, and incident reports as required.

Experience

• No Incidents/Accidents active or pending
• No warning letters on file with FAA
• CAN Pass Authorization(Canada) unrestricted travel to/from Canada
• Proven experience in aviation with a strong understanding of navigation systems and aircraft operations.
• Supervising experience in a team environment, demonstrating leadership skills that inspire confidence among crew members.
• Strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during flights.
• Prior 135 Experience preferred but not required

Pay: $160.00 per day
