Job summary

Carter Machinery, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an experienced corporate flight professional to join our flight operations team.

In this role you will serve as Pilot in Command on CL-30 missions, manage preflight planning, and deliver safe, white-glove service to passengers while upholding Carter values. The position requires extensive flight hours, type ratings, and the ability to relocate within proximity to the home base.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years private/transport flight experience.
• Minimum 2,000 hours total time; minimum 1,000 multi-engine turbine hours.
• Minimum 500 hours Challenger 300/350 experience.
• FAA Type Rating(s) for company aircraft.
• Pass FAA/DOT pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pilot in Command on CL-30 missions, ensuring highest standards of safety and professionalism.
• Operate aircraft transporting people as scheduled.
• Plan and execute flights in compliance with Part 91, company standard operations procedures, and all applicable regulations.
• Lead and conduct all preflight planning, including performance, weight & balance, weather/NOTAMS, and fuel strategy in a web-based and/or mobile device-based environment.
• Perform pre- and post-flight aircraft inspections, including engines, hydraulics, and other systems.
• Lead effective CRM, mentor crew members, and maintain a calm, client-focused cockpit culture.
• Deliver white-glove service to all passengers while representing Carter values on every trip.
• Interact with outside regulatory bodies (FAA, NTSB, DOT) and contract agencies on matters concerning flight operations.
• Keep abreast of new practices, materials, products and other subjects related to operation of flight department.
• Submit required paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Starting Compensation Range: the compensation package is negotiable and upward of $200,000 annually.

What You Will Do:

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum five years private/transport flight experience
• Minimum 2,000 hours total time/minimum 1,000 multi-engine turbine hours
• Minimum 500 hours Challenger 300/350 experience
• Prior Corporate or Charter experience, preferred
• International Operations experience, preferred
• Experience operating Gulfstream 600, Citation Encore, preferred
• 20/20 vision (or correctable to 2020)
• FAA Type Rating(s) for company aircraft
• Thorough understanding of Federal Aviation regulations and safety procedures
• Thorough pre- and post-flight airplane inspections
• Proficient knowledge with respect to flight operations manuals, regulations, and standards
• Reside or be willing to relocate to within one hour of/two-hour call-out radius of the assigned home base
• Possess a current passport and unrestricted ability to travel to the EU, Canada, and the Caribbean
• Must be able to pass a FAA/DOT pre-employment drug screen and comply with random drug/alcohol testing
• Willingness to authorize release of and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) review with Chief Pilot
• Valid U.S. driver’s license
• Excellent driving record
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operationally required
