Job summary

YMCA of South Florida in Miami is seeking a Wellness Skills Instructor to teach Pilates Reformer and other group exercise classes under the guidance of the Healthy Living Director. You will develop and deliver engaging programs for participants, collaborate with the Program Director to promote the Y’s Healthy Living initiatives, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a specialized certification for revenue programs, and at least two years

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Specialized certification for revenue producing programs.
• Two or more years of experience teaching or participating in related programs.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Arrives at least 15 minutes prior to shift.
• Develops and plans appropriate programs for YMCA participants.
• Collaborates with the Program Director to promote the Y’s Healthy Living program throughout the community.
• Plans, supervises, and implements programs in accordance with YMCA core values, policies, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrates and adapts programs to the needs of individuals and members, including considerations for disabilities.
• Ensures the Group Ex room is safe and conducive to exercising.
• Attends YMCA functions and program events.
• Follows Risk Management procedures and reports incidents within 24 hours.
• Performs other duties as needed.
