Job summary

Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District seeks Senior Recreation Instructors to support diverse recreation programs on Bainbridge Island. You will plan and lead classes, supervise staff, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for participants in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, maintaining certifications, recording timesheets, and collaborating with program leaders to deliver high-quality experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Maintain basic certification per governing agency.
• CPR/AED certification required (or obtainable within 3 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and facilitate recreation programs, classes, workshops or trips.
• Provide a safe, relevant and challenging instructional activities for participants.
• Provide mentoring and instructional guidance to program staff.
• Maintain standards in accordance with industry standards.
• Attend in-services and staff meetings as required.
• Keep accurate records according to district policy including timesheets.
• Maintain certifications as required by governing agency.
• Act as lead instructor in co-teaching activities.
