Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $35.00 - $65.00 Hourly

Pay Transparency: $35 - $65/hour

Role and Responsibilities

The Pilates Mat Instructor is responsible for teaching safe and effective Pilates classes for our guests and are to purpose and maintain educational standards commensurate with Active Wellness’ quality.

Specific Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Deliver safe pilates classes to the participants
  • Assist participantsin using safe and effective form during his/her workout
  • Administer emergency care to any participantin need of assistance
  • Work as a TEAM with all other departments
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Other Functions

  • Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness
  • Promote club services and activities
  • Perform routine maintenance of Pilates equipment
  • Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean
  • Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings
  • Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting
Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • AA degree preferred
  • 2 years Group Exercise experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching Pilates Mat highly preferred.
  • Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate, specialty class license (i.e. Pilates, Zumba, etc.).
  • Customer service oriented and ability to teach
  • Previous health club personal training experience is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry
  • AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
  • National Training Certification(s) required (see approved Certification, Licenses and Permits list) as well as modality specific certifications as required by role (if applicable)
  • Proof of citizenship or legal status

Physical and Working Conditions

  • Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
  • Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Fitness club environment
  • Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards
