Preferred Capital Management is seeking Full-time Pig Production Technicians for a sow farm near Wells, MN. You will work hands-on with livestock, following strict routines and bio-security measures in a loud, dusty barn environment.

The role emphasizes humane animal care, teamwork, and adherence to safety policies while maintaining accurate production records and supporting breedings and piglet care.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform routine handling of livestock.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
• Regular attendance and reliability is required.
• Travel between barns may be required with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane treatment of animals at all times.
• Follow bio-security protocols consistently.
• Monitor feeding systems and ensure proper nutrition according to protocols.
• Maintain animal health and provide care and treatments as directed.
• Perform routine vaccinations and injections as directed.
• Conduct facility cleaning, maintenance, and hygiene tasks.
• Assist with heat checking and breeding/insemination processes.
• Record and maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Communicate hazards and near-misses to the Department Lead or Manager.
• Prepare farrowing rooms and assist in farrowing and piglet care.
• Assist in piglet fostering and castration as required.
• Adjust heat lamps and heat mats as needed.
