Job summary

Preferred Capital Management, Inc. seeks a Full Time Pig Production Technician for a sow farm in Elkton, MN 55933. You will work day shifts handling pigs, following bio-security and welfare protocols while supporting feeding, vaccination, and health checks.

Responsibilities include recordkeeping, heat checks, insemination support, piglet care, and facility cleaning. Compensation is $18.00 per hour with health benefits and PTO, on-site work.

• No prior experience required.
• Shift: First (Day).

Responsibilities

• Humane handling of animals and adherence to welfare standards.
• Follow farm bio-security protocols at all times.
• Monitor and assist feeding systems and ensure animals are fed and watered per protocol.
• Maintain animal health and care; document observations as directed.
• Perform routine vaccinations and injections as directed.
• General facility cleaning, maintenance, and hygiene tasks.
• Power wash and follow cleaning/disinfection processes; ensure equipment is in good order.
• Record production data and maintain accurate documentation.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards or near misses to supervisor.
• Assist with heat checking and breeding/insemination processes.
• Monitor and care for pregnant sows; assist with farrowing and piglet care.
• Wean piglets and move animals between barns and departments.
• Prepare farrowing rooms and assist in proper piglet care after birth.
• Assist in piglet fostering and castration as required.
• Adjust heat lamps and heat mats as needed.
