Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit on a night shift. The role coordinates clinical activities, uses nursing processes, and guides staff to provide high-quality pediatric critical care.

The RN will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and Unit Assistants, float as needed and ensure compliance with hospital policies. Prior PICU experience and current LA RN licensure are required along with BLS; PALS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• One year of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) preferred.
• Current BLS required upon hire.
• PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• ILCOR courses (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association and American Red Cross) with manikin check-off.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for PICU patients using the nursing process.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Float among NICU and Pediatrics as needed per unit staffing.
• Follow hospital policies and procedures and nursing standards.
• Support department and hospital goals.
