Job summary

QuarterLine seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support the PICU at Madigan Army Medical Center, JBLM, WA. You will care for critically ill pediatric patients, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and follow evidence-based practices to ensure safety and quality care for service members and eligible dependents.

Requirements include a current RN license, ACLS, PALS, BLS, and a minimum of one year PICU experience within the last two years.

Qualifications

• One year experience in the last two years as a RN in PICU.
• Active, unrestricted RN license.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients.
• Manage hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressors, ventilators, and other advanced life-support equipment.
• Perform invasive procedures such as arterial lines and central lines within scope.
• Administer medications via IV, IM, oral, subcutaneous, transdermal, and rectal routes, using Five Rights.
• Recognize emergencies and initiate lifesaving measures; operate defibrillators, EKGs, monitors.
• Document assessments, treatments, medications, and progress per MAMC nursing standards.
• Educate patients and families; document understanding and follow-up.
• Provide direct patient care: hygiene, feeding, positioning, mobility, turning, transport.
• Communicate status to physicians and staff; participate in handoffs and discharge planning.
• Maintain infection-control practices and safety; contribute to QA and risk management.
