Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA in Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, high-acuity care in a dynamic PICU. You will apply established nursing models to assess, plan, and advocate for critically ill children and their families.

This role requires an RN license, BLS, PALS within 12 months, and the ability to work closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• RN Diploma required and active licensure in the relevant state.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• PALS certification within 1 year of start date (or PALS Instructor).
• APRNs or RNs licensure required; pediatric ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the PICU.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to meet patient goals.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the PICU RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The PICU RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What qualifications you will need:

• Registered Nurse Diploma
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse
