Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant on the Pediatric Critical Care Team at the Main Campus to support nurses in patient care activities and family-centered care. The role requires HSD/GED, 1–2 years STNA experience preferred, and PCA training or enrollment in a health care program.

CPR is preferred at hire but must be obtained within two weeks of start date. Full-time position, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED is required.
• PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse in completion of patient care activities, considering patient development.
• Maintains confidentiality and reports patient information as indicated.
• Monitors vital signs, intake and output, and provides safe transport and environment for patients.
• Cross-trained to support both clinical and clerical sides of the business.
