Job summary

Millwood Hospital in Arlington, TX (a UHS facility) seeks a Mental Health Technician to ensure patient safety and provide continuous care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role spans ages from preschool to geriatrics, with a PICU unit shift described as days 7a-3p.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA preferred, and 2 years of psychiatric patient care experience. CPI and CPR certifications are required prior to starting on the unit.

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent; CNA preferred; degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Experience: 2 years in psychiatric patient care with understanding of mental illness.
• Licensure: Valid driver's license required.
• Additional: CPI training before orientation; CPR certification before independent assignments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and provide continuous patient care, supervision and role modeling.
• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Care for patients across age groups from preschool to geriatrics depending on unit.
• Attend required orientations and shifts as scheduled (PICU unit, days 7a-3p).
