Job summary

PickleRage in Jacksonville, FL seeks a proactive Pickleball Program Manager to develop and promote a full slate of pickleball programs. You will organize leagues, clinics, camps, and events, while teaching various lessons and maintaining high on-court presence.

Responsibilities include supervising coaches, scheduling courts, driving memberships, and posting updates to social media. On-call availability and evenings/weekends work are expected.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• Experience as Pro/Head Pro/Manager in pickleball, tennis, or racquet sports.
• Teaching certifications from PPR or equivalent is a plus.
• Proficiency in posting on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
• Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and listening.
• Ability to motivate, organize and lead others.
• Experience creating, organizing, and executing leagues, tournaments, and sport-related programming.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive environment with members, guests, and staff.
• Willingness to regularly work evenings, weekends, and select holidays; on-call availability.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pickleball Program Manager will be responsible for the development, management, and promotion of pickleball programs; the organizing and scheduling of all programming including clinics, leagues, camps, open play, and tournaments. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all club and pickleball activity programming, including developing and promoting pickleball programs for all age groups.
• Organize, schedule, administer and promote leagues, round robins, drop-in/open-play, ladders, social events, tournaments, lessons and all other pickleball programming.
• Teach private lessons, group lessons, clinics, intro programs, and player-development sessions at a high level.
• Maintain an active on-court presence during open play, leagues, tournaments, round robins, mixers, and club events.
• Organize, schedule, and manage daily operation of 5-6 leagues/quarter or more.
• Manage and monitor court schedules to maximize usage.
• Promote club memberships to all potential prospects
• Responsible for the supervision of the pickleball teaching professionals and coaches including scheduling pickleball clinics and private lessons.
• Initiate and execute the selection, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and educating of all pickleball personnel in a manner that reinforces the club’s values and philosophies and ensures the operation of the departments meet company standards.
• Post regularly to the local club PickleRage social media accounts, including updates to programming or events, livestreaming championship matches, and other imagery/posts highlighting play at the facility.
• Conduct quarterly meetings with teaching professionals/coaches and club staff.
• Implement and stay current with new teaching techniques and receive certifications.
• Ensure that the environment is safe for all those who use the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• 4-year college degree preferred.
• Experience in a position such as Pro, Head Pro, Manager, or have served in an Assistant Director or Director position for pickleball, tennis, or other racquet sports or equivalent position
• Teaching certifications from PPR or equivalent is a plus
• Court Reserve knowledge and experience a plus
• Proficiency in posting on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram
• Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and listening
• Ability to motivate, organize and lead others
• Experience creating, organizing, and executing leagues, tournaments, and sport related programming
• Ability to create and maintain a positive environment through interaction and communication with members, guests, and staff
• Ability to regularly work during operational hours including evenings, weekends, and select holidays pursuant with facility and industry demands.
• Must ensure on-call availability to respond to issues related to pickleball programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Onsite at our PickleRage facility in Jacksonville, FL. Involves performing in a professional, sports-centric environment that includes court play, retain and member services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to perform light maintenance work which may require climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching above the head and reaching forward. Occasionally climbs ladders. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
