Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee pickleball tournaments, leagues, and social play events.
• Provide equipment recommendations and assistance to members.

• Attends staff meetings as required.

Pickleball Professional

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Position Summary:

The Pickleball Professional for providing expert instruction and guidance to our members, ensuring they have an exceptional pickleball experience. The position will be responsible for organizing and leading private lessons, clinics, and engaging in social play events for players of all skill levels. Additionally, the position will contribute to the overall growth and development of pickleball sport within our club.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality pickleball instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans for group clinics and private lessons.
• Create a positive and inclusive environment for players, fostering a love for the sport and a sense of community.
• Organize and oversee pickleball tournaments, leagues, and social play events.
• Provide equipment recommendations and assistance to members.
• Maintain accurate records of lesson schedules and player progress.
• Remains abreast of industry trends, teaching methodologies, and certifications related to pickleball.
• Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.
• Attends staff as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Ability to control natural swing speed during instruction or matches with inexperienced players.
• Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and humid outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
• Continuous standing, walking, running, bending, stooping and repetitive actions.
• Frequent use of light machinery and hand-held tools.
• Frequent lifting and moving of objects.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a country-club setting preferred.
• Proven experience as a Pickleball Professional or similar role.
• USAPA (USA Pickleball Association) certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
• USPTA Certification preferred.
• Exceptional playing skills in pickleball (4.5/5.0 +) and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with members of all ages and backgrounds.
• Ability to tailor instruction and coaching techniques to suit individual player needs.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
