Job summary

Play Academy is seeking an energetic Pickleball Instructor to lead group and private lessons at community courts in Henderson, NV. This 1099 Independent Contractor role offers per-class compensation and a flexible schedule based on availability.

The ideal candidate holds USAPA (or equivalent) certification, CPR/AED and First Aid, with experience teaching pickleball and strong communication skills to motivate players of all ages and skill levels.

Qualifications

• Certification from USAPA or equivalent pickleball instruction program.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Experience teaching pickleball lessons preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured pickleball lessons and private sessions in alignment with Play Academy standards and programming guidelines.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and verbal cues to ensure safe and effective technique.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive class atmosphere.
• Modify drills and lessons to accommodate varying ages, skill levels, and physical abilities.
• Ensure participant safety and proper use of equipment and courts.
• Arrive early to prepare courts and remain after lessons for cleanup and participant support.
• Track attendance, progress, and communicate updates or concerns to participants and management.
• Represent Play Academy in a professional and positive manner at all times.

Position Summary

Play Academy is seeking an energetic, engaging, and motivating Pickleball Instructor to join our team. This individual will lead group and private pickleball lessons for participants of all ages and skill levels, creating a fun, safe, and encouraging environment that fosters skill development, friendly competition, and a love of the game.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structured pickleball lessons and private sessions in alignment with Play Academy standards and programming guidelines
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and verbal cues to ensure safe and effective technique
• Create a positive, encouraging, and inclusive class atmosphere
• Modify drills and lessons to accommodate varying ages, skill levels, and physical abilities
• Ensure participant safety and proper use of equipment and courts
• Arrive early to prepare courts and remain after lessons for cleanup and participant support

Independent Contractor Status (1099)

• This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor role
• Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and certifications
• Schedule based on class and private lesson availability

Physical Requirements

• Ability to demonstrate pickleball techniques and remain physically active during lessons
• Ability to move quickly, pivot, and swing repeatedly for extended periods
• Ability to lift and manage light equipment (paddles, balls, cones, nets)

Compensation

• Competitive per-class and per-session compensation based on experience
