Job summary

Fastenal Co. is hiring for a part-time Picking position at our Madison, MS distribution center. You will pick orders, pack items, and print labels for routing while using RF scanners and printers.

Work with the team to weigh products, keep the area clean, and follow health and safety rules. Flexible schedule opportunities may arise after onboarding and performance goals are met.

Qualifications

Part-time Shift(s): TUE THU 9:00am - 4:00pm

FRI 8:00am - 12:00pm

SAT 4:00am - 10:00am

Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Picking, you will help facilitate the movement of product from our distribution center to company owned branches. When an order is placed by a branch you will pick the requested quantity, pack the order, and print a label with a routing number. Product is then moved to the next department by hand, palletjack, or forklift. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 359 Old Jackson Rd, Madison, MS 39110. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately
• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Using a scale for weighing product
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

• Prior experience operating a forklift
