Wood Personnel Services Murfreesboro Office is recruiting experienced pickers and/or packers in Smyrna, Tennessee for Temp-to-Hire opportunities with a reputable employer offering great health benefits.

Job description

Wood Personnel Services Murfreesboro Office, is recruiting experienced pickers and/or packers in Smyrna, Tennessee. These are Temp-to-Hire opportunities with a reputable, established employer with great health benefits for their employees.

Picker / Packer Compensation and Shift:

• Up to $19.80 per hour (depending on shift)
• 1st shift: Monday through Friday, 6am – 3pm
• 2nd shift: Monday through Friday, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm
• Overtime availability: availability for overtime as needed (not guaranteed but often required)

Picker / Packer Duties and Job Responsibilities:

• Pick accurately and efficiently using RF scanners and warehouse systems
• Verify parts, quantities, and UOM before completing orders
• Pack products securely according to established standards
• Stage completed orders in designated locations
• Meet productivity, attendance expectations, and accuracy KPIs established for the position
• Maintain consistent productivity throughout the shift
• Identify and report discrepancies involving inventory, parts, quantities, or damaged product.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all safety, quality, and warehouse procedures
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
• Work collaboratively with other warehouse team members while also being capable of working independently
• Performs additional warehouse duties as assigned based on operational needs

Picker / Packer Skills and Requirements:

• Previous experience in picking and/or packing required – preferably in a fast-paced warehouse distribution setting
• Previous experience staging products is a plus.
• A strong work ethic with longevity in past roles and a good attitude with a coachable mindset.
• Willingness to learn and be self-motivated.
• Ability to stay focused and work independently.
• Basic computer skills with attention to detail and preferably with an ability to learn clients’ internal systems
• Ability to work at a fast pace while neatly and securely packing products
• Familiarity with a RF Scanner experience for picking/packing and transferring products to different locations in the system and physically in the warehouse.
• Basic math skills (addition and multiplication) and understanding of UOM
• Proficient in navigating multiple screens/tabs for part selection
• Must have reliable transportation and a track record of job stability and dependability
• Can safely and consistently lift 50 pounds, unassisted
• Comfortable working on feet (including standing, walking, bending, picking, etc.) in a fast-paced warehouse setting for up to 10 hours per day
• High school diploma or GED required.
