Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a Picker/Packer to support efficient warehouse distribution. Typical hours are Mon–Fri 8:00am–4:30pm with overtime and weekends as needed; pay ranges from $17.50 to $18 per hour, depending on experience.

The role requires pulling items according to tickets, using RF guns, loading for shipment, and maintaining accurate inventory. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1+ year warehousing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience coordinating shipments in warehousing/distribution.
• Ability to perform tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented to ensure accurate picking and quantities.

Responsibilities

• Handle pick tickets/orders from warehouse staff to pull items.
• Use RF guns and other electronic equipment as needed.
• Physically pull items by stated number, size, color, quantity, quality.
• Compare pulled items to ticket requirements for accuracy.
• Pack/wrap orders and prepare for shipment.
• Transport orders to shipping locations using material handling equipment.
• Ensure orders are staged correctly for delivery.
• Operate material handling equipment following safety guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining warehouse security and safety.
• May assist in placing incoming items in inventory.
• Stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs intermittently.
• Observe safety guidelines in all duties.
• Assist with warehouse inventory counts.

Opportunity summary:

The Picker/Packer will have a key role in the efficient distribution of our warehouse deliveries and arrivals

Hours: Mon - Fri, 8am - 4:30pm (overtime and weekends as needed)

Pay: $17.50 - $18/hr (dependent on experience)

Location: St. Charles, MO 63301

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock Packaging Solutions:

• Handle pick tickets/orders from warehouse management/staff to pull items from warehouse inventory.
• Use RF guns and other electronic equipment, as necessary.
• Physically pulls warehouse items by the stated number, size, color, quantity, quality, etc. requirements.
• Compare and inspect physical items pulled to the requirements of the pick ticket/order.
• Pack/wrap orders as required by item/delivery type and prepare for shipment.
• Transport orders to shipping locations/bins/docks using the proper material handling equipment.
• Ensure that orders are staged correctly for each delivery.
• Operate any material handling equipment following established safety guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
• May assist in placing incoming items in inventory.
• Agility to stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility.
• Capacity to lift and carry up to 50lbs intermittently during a typical work shift.
• Observance of established safety guidelines in conducting physical work activity duties.
• Assist with conducting warehouse inventory counts as required.
• Other duties as assigned

What You Need to Succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One or more years’ experience coordinating shipments in a warehousing or distribution environment.
• Ability to perform tasks under pressure, and within a deadline driven environment.
• Ability to handle detail-oriented work to ensure proper items and quantities are picked to arrive at customers in good condition.
• General fluency in English required, verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform job duties in severe weather conditions: heat, cold, rain, etc.
• Walk for distances of 100 yards repeatedly and without assistance.
• Lift 50 pounds and without assistance or equipment
• Utilize all material handling equipment without assistance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility.
• Observance of established safety guidelines in conducting physical work activity duties.
• Wear protective equipment as required.
