Job summary

Natural Organics Inc. in Melville, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Picker/Packer for our busy Distribution Department. You will accurately pick customer orders using an RF scanner, weigh and pack cartons, and prepare packing lists for shipment.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; High school diploma required.
• Some experience in a shipping operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick customer orders using an RF scanner and locate items on shelves.
• Scan product barcodes until the required quantity is filled for the order.
• Assemble and pack items into cartons and weigh the carton.
• Create packing lists with product numbers and quantities for each box.
• Weigh and record the box weight on the packing list; place cartons on a pallet.
• Stretch wrap finished pallets and label them; load trucks using a pallet jack.

We are currently seeking a Picker/Packer for our busy Distribution Department.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Accurately pick customer orders using an RF scanner. The scanner will lead the picker to the correct location on the picking shelves and tell the picker the product number and quantity required to fill the order. The picker will scan the barcode on the product until the complete quantity required has been satisfied. All picked products will be assembled and packed into a carton. The carton will be weighed. A packing list will be written that contains the product number and quantity for every item packed into that specific box. The box will be weighed, and the weight will also be recorded on the packing list. Finished cartons are placed on a pallet. Finished pallets are stretch wrapped for protection and labeled. Truck loading using a pallet jack.

Physical Requirements:

Standing and walking short distances for most of the day

Must be able to lift 25-40 lbs.

Qualifications:
