Vistar is seeking a Mid-Shift Warehouse Associate to pick and ship orders. You will use an automated headset to pull items, place them into correct boxes, and help prepare shipments with quality control checks.

Starting pay is $16.50/hr with a $0.50 shift differential, and schedule is Monday–Friday from 11:30 AM to 8 PM. Join a team focused on accuracy, safety, and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ months warehouse and/or distribution experience preferred.
• Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly during shift.

Earn up to $17 per hour! (Starting pay $16.50 per hour with .50 cents shift differential)

Job Summary

The General Warehouse Associate - Pickers and Shippers plays a key role in fulfilling orders within the warehouse. Pickers are responsible for retrieving inventory using an automated headset system and placing it in the correct boxes to ensure accurate orders. Shippers focus on preparing these orders for shipment by arranging products in boxes and performing quality control checks to ensure proper packaging. Both roles support additional warehouse functions, including cart and box building, and are expected to assist with other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Picker:

• Use an automated headset system to pull inventory from warehouse shelves.
• Ensure correct items are placed in boxes to maintain order accuracy.
• Maintain an efficient picking pace to meet daily order volume.

Shipper:

• Interpret on-screen prompts to identify products that need to be shipped.
• Package products securely and appropriately for safe transport.
• Perform quality control assessments on items before shipping.
• Collaborate with other departments, including cart building and box building, as needed.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor to support overall warehouse operations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Accurately and efficiently pick product and prepare orders for shipment observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Works independently and communicates well with other departments (verbally/written/computer) to move work through the system in an organized fashion. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently pick and pack product according to established standards.
• Run scanning equipment.
• Pack orders to the customer's requirement and/or from provided specifications.
• Meet established productivity standards and quality standards.
• Self-identifies mistakes, identify problems and recommend solutions, provide candid and timely feedback to all levels in the organization, involve others in problem-solving when needed and see all responsibilities through to a successful completion.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of warehouse and/or distribution work experience
• 6+ months of experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack
• Foodservice distribution or related industry experience
• Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain a sense of urgency during picking tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and adapt to changing priorities based on business needs.
• Capable of working in a high-demand, high-volume environment and meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
• Ability to see, speak, hear, write, and understand the English language.
• Ability to read and analyze data, labels, and other written information.
