JOB DETAILS
Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent, attentive Warehouse/Order Selector to aid in the growth and efficiency of our distribution center operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reading and comprehending order documents to identify which items need to be selected from the warehouse.
  • Navigating through the warehouse to locate the requested items.
  • Picking the correct items and verifying their quality and quantity.
  • Packing items securely to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Using warehouse management systems or barcode scanners to track inventory and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by complying with warehouse procedures and safety regulations.
  • Assisting in inventory control activities, including counting and checking stock.
  • Operating warehouse equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, and wrapping machines.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
  • Good attendance and adherence to work schedule.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a related area of responsibility.
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with both internal teammates.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.
  • The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and must have the ability to obtain appropriate certifications to operate equipment.
  • Previous work experience as an Order Selector or a similar role in a warehouse.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Good understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Basic mathematical skills to count, add, or subtract items and make sure that the right quantity of products is selected.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy items.
  • Understanding safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the warehouse.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body, and walk.
  • Lift and move cases (selecting product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs. continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead.
  • Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases.
  • Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform position.
  • Must be able to climb on and off power equipment.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, an associate regularly works near moving mechanical apparatus and is regularly exposed to vibration and moderate to high noise levels. The work environment includes congested and high traffic areas, slippery floors, working alongside forklifts, single pallet jacks, electric walk behind jacks and hand carts. Walking and working are done on concrete flooring. Some duties are performed in the warehouse and will require work to be done in varying climates. Temperatures in freezers are below zero. The shift end-time fluctuates with the employer’s daily needs. The associate occasionally works in high and precarious places.
