Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a PICC Registered Nurse to independently insert peripherally placed central venous, mid-line, and peripheral IV catheters. The PICC team supports each other and strives for excellence in patient care.

The role requires Florida RN licensure (compact licensure acceptable with FL license within 60 days), an ASN/ Diploma (BSN preferred), and BLS certification. Two years of acute care experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Florida Registered Nurse licensure or appropriate compact licensure.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize site preparation, insertion, and site catheter processes per infection control policies.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Act as a resource regarding insertion and maintenance of PICC lines, products and procedures.
• Instruct and provide information to staff, patients and families regarding use and care of PICC lines.
• Assess patient condition, venous access needs, and learning needs based on data collection.
