Summary

Provides care to all patients requiring long‑term, central or deep peripheral IV access for infusion of medications and fluids. Provides assessment, line placement and immediate follow‑up to patients, families and staff. Responsible to assist with promotion of optimal care of patients via coordination of clinical activities, professional education, quality assurance, research and administrative functions in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Knowledge of quality improvement methodology, risk management practices, and infection control practices are needed. Must have the ability to function independently under general guidance of the nurse manager and protocols described by the department. Duties require independent action and judgment. Utilizes time management, interpersonal skills, planning, delegating, and problem solving in providing care. Follows general guidelines prescribed by standard policies and procedures. Utilizes expanded skills of group leading, educating, consulting, negotiating and collaborating in providing care. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Must demonstrate good communication skills to provide education to patient, families and staff. Must demonstrate ability to perform sterile procedures. Must be positive, compassionate, and flexible. Moffitt requires all nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in his/her role as a RN. RN's are responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process and evidence‑based practice to provide nursing care for the patient. Moffitt nurses practice a Patient/Family centered model of care.

Salary Range

$45.02 - $68.72

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job‑related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
