Intermedia Group Inc. in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Researcher to invent, develop, and validate cutting-edge photonic technologies. This role focuses on theoretical analysis, device simulations, PIC layout, and meticulous measurements to enable next-generation products.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team across mm-waves, photonics, precision mechanical design, and software development, with relocation assistance available. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• As required: Ph.D. in a relevant field (Photonics, EE, Optics, Physics).
• Innovative research in integrated photonics.
• Deep understanding of optical waveguide theory (mode solving, confinement, polarization, dispersion).
• PIC simulation, design, and layout experience (RSoft, Lumerical, Tidy3D, IPKISS, KLayout).
• Extensive hands-on PIC component characterization experience.
• Familiarity with die- or wafer-level optical and electrical probing of passive and active PIC devices.

Responsabilités

• Propose, develop, and implement innovative yet practical PIC solutions as part of the team.
• Theoretical analysis, photonic device simulations, PIC layout, and PIC component measurements.
• Identify new technologies early and how they can be harnessed.
• Invent new measurement concepts or implementations to impact the business.
• Transfer the technology into commercial products.
