Job summary

School of Rock Wexford is looking for a Piano/keys Teacher to enhance music education through performance-based lessons. The position requires over 3 years of teaching or performing experience, with a strong focus on music theory and engaging students effectively. The ideal candidate is not only a working musician but also has formal music training.

As part of our dedicated team, you will create lesson plans, monitor student progress, and ensure a high quality of instruction while interacting with parents and fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

The Piano/keys Teacher role will join our Wexford location.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans
• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including Monitoring and Supervision policy

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
• Strong organizational skills
• Very strong customer relations skills
• Resourceful and good problem‑solver
• Works well under pressure
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
• Good judgment a must
