This role is currently ONLY open to those who have a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Piano Performance or Piano Pedagogy.

Lesson With You (“LWY”) is the leading US provider of live, online private music lessons. With over 55 teachers covering 20 instruments and vocals, we pride ourselves on providing excellent instruction and an outstanding student experience.

Duties

Piano instructors can expect to teach both recurring lessons and trial lessons until reaching scheduling capacity. LWY offers 30, 45, and 60-minute piano lessons, serving students from beginners to advanced, including elementary-aged students and retirees. Qualified candidates should be comfortable teaching all levels and have a variety of industry-standard teaching materials available.

Administrative duties are minimal, as LWY employs staff for trial scheduling and billing. Instructors are required to submit weekly lesson summaries for payroll verification.

Scheduling

LWY is currently experiencing high volume inquiries. Each new student receives a complimentary 30-minute trial lesson, with most opting to continue with weekly lessons.

Qualified instructors with consistent availability during “peak hours” can quickly develop a full schedule. Peak hours are weekdays from 4 pm to 8 pm in US time zones (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific). Instructors with other availabilities are welcome but may receive students more gradually.

LWY seeks talented, enthusiastic, and thoughtful piano instructors and will accommodate candidates with additional commitments, such as graduate studies or part-time jobs. However, consistent weekly availability is preferred to ensure regular student attendance.

Requirements

• Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in piano performance or pedagogy.
• High-quality microphone, webcam, and a laptop or tablet for teaching; cell phones cannot be primary devices. These will be verified during the interview.
• Preparedness to provide a professional video recording demonstrating music performance skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Based in the US or able to teach US time zones with US work authorization.

This is a contract position requiring US work authorization. We assist with CPT/OPT applications.

Compensation

$26 - 30 per hour, depending on degrees and teaching experience. Specific questions will be addressed during the interview.

Note: If selected, a video recording demonstrating your piano skills will be requested.
