School of Rock Waxhaw is seeking a Piano/Keys Instructor to lead private lessons and school shows, delivering engaging, performance-based music education.

You will develop thoughtful lesson plans, ensure students master fundamentals, and connect with families to share progress while supporting rehearsals and school events at our welcoming location. Ideal candidates are working musicians with formal training who enjoy mentoring students and building confidence through live performances.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers and people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong customer relations skills.
• Resourceful and good problem-solver.
• Works well under pressure.
• Ideal candidate is a working musician with formal music school training.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor; good judgment required.
• Passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction in private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible in the school to students and parents.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance.
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons and support overall program execution.
