PURPOSE OF JOB:

To work with the conductor/teacher in providing a quality choir experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform piano accompaniments for choir while following the conductor at a difficulty comparable to that in state high school competition.
2. Practice accompaniments, if necessary, outside of the work day and without compensation.
3. Perform accurately 2, 3, and 4 parts in tempo as required during rehearsal.
4. Be available to accompany nights and weekends for additional compensation at the hourly rate.
5. Work with the conductor/teacher in providing a quality choir experience in rehearsal and concert settings.

SUPERVISORY QUALIFICATIONS: None

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED certificate.
2. Read music fluently in four parts.
3. Professional or semiprofessional performance experience.
4. Must have own transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. BA Degree in Music.
2. Previous accompanist experience in schools.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Length of work year: 10 months, 8 hours per day; 5 days/week; 187 work days.
