Job Description: Field Technician - Alstom

Starting pay range: $40-$45/hour
Role Overview: Provide leadership to field technicians, support Product Introduction (PI)/Warranty team in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving technical/quality issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot Alstom products at customer sites, ensuring their availability.

- Strong appetite to learn, lead, and independently discover root causes through documentation review and research. Collaborative attitude to seek help and work within a team.
- Organizational skills to synthesize inputs and plan efficiently, understanding necessary sequences and resources, and communicating details clearly to stakeholders.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, including occasional travel within customer depots, adjusting daily plans, and working in different shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting during PI, pre-warranty, and commissioning phases, including investigation and repair.
- Diagnose malfunctions and failures, recommending preventative and corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians.
- Facilitate information flow within the PI customer site and project teams, providing status updates and addressing key technical issues.
- Support Field Modifications, Fleet checks, and report deviations in the Failure Management database.
- Ensure compliance with EHS & security rules and PI processes.
- Execute testing and troubleshooting procedures to identify defective parts promptly.
- Assist engineering and external/internal suppliers with technical investigations.
- Ensure effective communication during interventions and contribute to the Return of Experience.
Main Required Competencies:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic applications.
- At least 4 years of technical experience in the rail industry, with mechanical or electrical/electronic focus.
- Knowledge of railway operations and products.
