Essex North Shore is seeking a Physics Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

Licensable or licensure in Physics (8-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Satisfactory CORI, SAFIS, DCF check and SORI required.

Bilingual preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION

ACADEMIC TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure by DESE as a Teacher

REPORTS TO: STEAM Coordinator

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks in the specified content area.
  2. Provide instruction in Theory to students in all four grade levels, as assigned.
  3. Document student performance, student behavior, and student achievement within the career education setting.
  4. Provide review and reinforcement of new concepts; support students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of students' IEPs, as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments, tests, and quizzes in collaboration with special educators, if required.
  6. Develop resources for students to be successful, such as models, graphic organizers, and copies of class notes, video clips, demonstrations, etc.
  7. Modify assignments, tests, and quizzes as required.
  8. Participate as a member of the Content Department; collaborate with teachers within the department and within the cluster.
  9. Maintain documentation, including student performance, behavior, progress data, notation of student absences/tardies, and conversations with parents and administrators.
  10. Provide content support outside of the general education classroom, as necessary.
  11. Integrate technology into the curriculum.
  12. Respond to any correspondence, both oral and written, that comes from a parent or guardian.
  13. Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
  14. Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Principal or Designee.
