Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking a combined Physics and Robotics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in the Los Angeles area. The role focuses on delivering engaging physics and robotics instruction across middle to high school levels, with hands-on experiments and lab work.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in physics/robotics or science education, with teaching experience in private schools and familiarity with AP/IB courses.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Physics, Robotics, Science Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred for advanced courses or higher teaching roles).
• Prior experience teaching physics/robotics at middle or high school level, preferably in private/independent schools.
• Experience designing and delivering hands-on experiments and using laboratory equipment.
• Experience with advanced courses (AP Physics, IB Physics, Robotics) may be a plus.
• In-depth understanding of physics/robotics principles and concepts.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly and engagingly.
• Proficiency in laboratory practices and safety protocols.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools, LMS, and digital resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and effective physics/robotics lessons for students at various levels.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments.
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in alignment with the curriculum and standards.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with other faculty to refine curriculum materials to meet school goals.
• Offer office hours, study sessions, or mentoring for extra help or challenge.
• Advise students on college and career pathways in science fields.
