Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates seeks a combined Physics and Robotics Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year at an independent school in the Los Angeles area. The role involves delivering engaging physics and robotics instruction across levels, with focus on hands-on learning and rigorous coursework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Robotics, Science Education, or related field; master’s preferred for advanced courses or higher teaching roles.
• Prior experience teaching physics/robotics at middle/high school level, preferably in private/independent school.
• Experience designing and delivering hands-on experiments and using laboratory equipment.
• Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP/IB Physics, Robotics) may be a plus.
• Strong understanding of physics/robotics concepts and ability to explain them clearly.
• Familiarity with ed tech tools, LMS, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging physics/robotics lessons for middle/high school or advanced courses.
• Use varied teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles (lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities).
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum and standards.
• Foster a positive learning environment encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with faculty to refine curriculum to meet school goals.
• Offer office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring for students needing extra help.
• Advise students on college and career pathways, especially in science fields.
