Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates seeks Physics Teachers for the 2027-2028 school year at independent schools in the Philadelphia area. The positions involve delivering engaging physics instruction, designing hands-on experiments, and advising students on college pathways.

Qualified applicants have a physics-related degree and experience teaching at middle/high school levels, with preference for private/independent settings; mastery of classroom technology and curriculum alignment is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics or related field.
• Experience teaching physics in middle/high school; private/independent setting preferred.
• Experience with hands-on experiments and lab equipment.
• Experience with advanced courses (AP/IB) may be a plus.
• Ability to explain complex topics clearly and engagingly.
• Proficiency with educational technology tools and LMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging physics lessons for middle/high school levels.
• Use diverse teaching methods: lectures, demos, hands-on activities, experiments.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned with standards.
• Foster a positive environment encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with faculty to refine curriculum to meet school goals.
• Maintain an orderly classroom and address student behavior respectfully.
• Encourage group work and individual tasks; provide timely feedback.
• Offer office hours, study sessions, or mentoring for extra help.
• Advise students on college and career pathways in science.
