Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics or related field is preferred.
• Experience supporting undergraduate physics instructional laboratories is preferred.
• Setting up and testing physics experiments and demonstrations is required.
• Experience with data-acquisition systems and basic electronics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of undergraduate instructional laboratories.
• Prepare, test, and stage experimental setups and equipment per schedule.
• Provide technical support for laboratory instruction and troubleshooting.
• Calibrate, maintain, and repair equipment; identify replacement components as needed.
• Assist faculty and GTAs; orient and train GTAs in lab equipment use.
• Develop, test, and implement new laboratory experiments; evaluate equipment.
• Coordinate equipment inventories, relocations, and surplus processes; maintain records.
