About the Role:
SiSTEM is seeking a knowledgeable and responsive Physics Homework Lab Tutor to support high school students in real-time during weekly, live virtual sessions. These drop-in labs are structured around student questions—your role is to guide them through difficult assignments, clarify abstract concepts, and boost their confidence with problem-solving strategies.

Labs are Q&A-style, flexible, and dynamic. You'll be fielding live questions and helping students make sense of everything from formulas to experimental data.

Common Topics Students Need Help With:
  • Forces and motion: Newton’s Laws, friction, acceleration.
  • Energy and work: Conservation, potential/kinetic energy, power.
  • Kinematics: Velocity, displacement, and time-based calculations.
  • Lab support: Interpreting results, setting up experiments, analyzing data.
  • Graphs and formulas: Real-world application and equation manipulation.

You’re a Strong Fit If You:
  • Have 2+ years of experience teaching or tutoring high school physics.
  • Can confidently manage up to 15 students in a virtual drop-in setting.
  • Are excellent at explaining difficult concepts in clear, student-friendly language.
  • Understand how to balance engagement, efficiency, and flexibility in live sessions.
  • Are familiar with state Physics curriculum.

What We Provide:
  • Steady student flow and structured session times.
  • Zoom classroom platform (no tech setup required).
  • Admin and scheduling support handled by SiSTEM.
  • Optional onboarding, resources, and opportunities to expand into other roles (tutoring, coaching, bootcamps).
