About the Role:
SiSTEM is seeking a knowledgeable and responsive Physics Homework Lab Tutor to support high school students in real-time during weekly, live virtual sessions. These drop-in labs are structured around student questions—your role is to guide them through difficult assignments, clarify abstract concepts, and boost their confidence with problem-solving strategies.
Labs are Q&A-style, flexible, and dynamic. You'll be fielding live questions and helping students make sense of everything from formulas to experimental data.
Common Topics Students Need Help With:
- Forces and motion: Newton’s Laws, friction, acceleration.
- Energy and work: Conservation, potential/kinetic energy, power.
- Kinematics: Velocity, displacement, and time-based calculations.
- Lab support: Interpreting results, setting up experiments, analyzing data.
- Graphs and formulas: Real-world application and equation manipulation.
You’re a Strong Fit If You:
- Have 2+ years of experience teaching or tutoring high school physics.
- Can confidently manage up to 15 students in a virtual drop-in setting.
- Are excellent at explaining difficult concepts in clear, student-friendly language.
- Understand how to balance engagement, efficiency, and flexibility in live sessions.
- Are familiar with state Physics curriculum.
