Job summary

Avila University in Kansas City, MO seeks adjunct instructors in physics for multiple part-time appointments for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. The successful candidate will teach in-person lectures and labs for Physics Concepts, General Physics I, and General Physics II.

Responsibilities include delivering content with engaging and inclusive methods, coordinating with the program Chair, and ensuring coverage of course objectives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the discipline or a master’s degree in another area with 18 credit hours of discipline graduate coursework from an accredited university/college.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and ability to engage a diverse student population.
• Experience with Canvas LMS and online learning modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all class sessions according to the assigned schedule.
• Provide instruction, activities, assignments, assessments, and feedback to adequately cover all objectives for the courses taught.
• Deliver content using effective methods suitable for students with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
• Collaborate with the program Chair.
• Perform other duties related to assigned courses.
